The Almanac

Turn your modular synthesizer into a planetarium!

The Almanac is a CV-generating synthesizer module that tracks the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets in the solar system.

When connected to a Eurorack-style modular synthesizer system, The Almanac's GPS unit will attempt to acquire a lock on your location. Once a GPS lock has been established, the outputs of The Almanac will produce control voltages of 0-5 volts corresponding to the altitude of the planets, Sun, and Moon above the horizon.

The standard mode will output 0 volts for all altitudes below the horizon. However,an alternate mode produces 0 volts at -90 degrees (and 2.5 volts at the horizon).

Additional modes are available for heliocentric positions in orbits as well as phases of the moon (replacing the output for Pluto).

Harness the music of the spheres.

Note: GPS locks are sensitive to your immediate surroundings and can sometimes be difficult to obtain. If The Almanac can't acquire a lock within one hour, it will fallback on one of twelve preset locations, including many astronomically significant sites from around the world!
